Full Registration with CCH / State Medical Council
A qualified homeopath in India must hold a BHMS degree and be registered with the Central Council of Homeopathy or the relevant state medical council. Always verify this.
Takes a Thorough Case History
A good homeopath will spend 45–60 minutes with you on your first visit, asking about not just your chief complaint but your full medical history, family history, mental state, sleep, appetite, and life circumstances.
Prescribes One Remedy at a Time
Classical homeopathy uses a single remedy at a time. If a practitioner routinely prescribes 5–10 medicines simultaneously, they are not practising classical homeopathy.
Explains the Treatment Plan Clearly
A trustworthy homeopath will set realistic expectations, explain the likely duration of treatment, and discuss what progress looks like at each stage.
Monitors Progress and Adjusts Accordingly
Follow-up visits are essential. A good practitioner reviews changes carefully, adjusts potency or remedy as needed, and never keeps you on the same prescription indefinitely without review.
Refers When Necessary
A good homeopath knows the limits of homeopathy. They will refer you to a specialist for investigations, emergencies, or conditions that need immediate conventional intervention — without ego.

Warning signs that a practitioner may not be trustworthy
Promises guaranteed cure or quick fix for serious chronic diseases
Prescribes the same combination of remedies to every patient with a given diagnosis
Asks you to stop all other medications without proper medical guidance
Does not take a detailed case history — prescribes after a 5-minute conversation
Sells expensive proprietary 'cure kits' or branded multi-remedy combinations
Has no verifiable qualifications or registration details
Discourages questions or dismisses your concerns
Claims to treat conditions like cancer, HIV, or serious infections with homeopathy alone
