Uterine Polyps: What to Know, and Where Homeopathy Fits In

Dr. Meera ThakurJuly 20266 min read

Uterine polyps — growths on the inner lining of the uterus — often cause irregular or heavy bleeding, and in some cases can affect fertility. They're usually benign, but like any growth, they need proper evaluation and, often, direct treatment.

Important

Uterine polyps are diagnosed through ultrasound or hysteroscopy and, depending on size, symptoms, and your fertility goals, are often removed (hysteroscopic polypectomy is typically a straightforward outpatient procedure). Bleeding between periods, very heavy periods, or bleeding after menopause should always be evaluated by a gynaecologist. Homeopathy does not remove existing polyps and is not a substitute for your gynaecologist's recommended treatment.

Where Homeopathy Can Support

Once polyps have been properly diagnosed and managed according to your gynaecologist's recommendation, constitutional homeopathy can offer complementary support for general hormonal balance and the underlying tendency toward tissue overgrowth, which some women find useful alongside their gynaecological care, including after polyp removal to support a healthier uterine lining going forward.

Key Insight

We always ask about your diagnostic and treatment history before offering complementary support, and coordinate closely with your gynaecologist's follow-up plan, particularly important if fertility is a consideration.

Commonly Indicated Remedies for General Gynaecological Support

Thuja Occidentalis

Traditionally associated with tendency toward growths and polypoid tissue

Calcarea Carbonica

Constitutional support for tissue tendency, hormonal balance

Phosphorus

Tendency to bleed easily, constitutional support for uterine tissue health

Sepia

General hormonal and uterine constitutional support

Calcarea Iodata

Constitutional support for glandular and tissue overgrowth tendency

Ustilago Maydis

Traditionally used for uterine bleeding tendencies and tissue congestion

These support general constitutional tendency — please note homeopathy does not remove existing polyps, and treatment decisions should always follow your gynaecologist's guidance.
